Open call – nominations for the OCA jury (2026 – 2028)

OCA is assembling a new jury for the period 2026 – 2028. In preparation for this, we would like to invite you to nominate up to two candidates for positions on the new jury. Nominations may also be submitted by individuals.

The selected OCA jury will be announced on OCA’s website and other channels.

About the OCA jury
The OCA jury consists of four members, including OCA’s Director. The Director of OCA serves as Chair of the jury. The jury conducts the professional artistic assessment of applications for OCA grants, including International Support – Travel Support and Production Support, as well as International Residencies. Jury members are appointed for a term of three years and may serve for up to two consecutive terms.

Tasks of the OCA jury

Jury members evaluate grant applications and residency applications. The jury meets three times a year following the application deadlines on February 3, May 3, and October 3. At the meetings, applications are assessed against the scheme’s criteria, and subsequent decisions on allocations are made. Each jury member enters into a three-year agreement.

OCA’s International Support contributes to promoting international activity and participation in projects and exhibitions abroad for artists and art professionals in Norway, to strengthen and facilitate international activity within contemporary art from Norway.

Jury members competencies

• All jury members must have professional art expertise and knowledge of international contemporary art and institutions.
• Jury members should be familiar with contemporary visual art from Norway.
• At least one member must work outside of Norway and possess an excellent understanding of the contemporary, international visual art scene.
• At least two members must have strong knowledge of the contemporary visual art scene in Norway.
• At least one member must be a professional practising artist.

Candidates must confirm in advance that they are willing to serve before submitting a nomination on their behalf.

The composition of the OCA jury should aim for diversity in terms of expertise, age, gender, geography and culture. This consideration is applied to each jury, taking into account the makeup of previous OCA juries.

Assessment of nominations

Nominations are assessed by OCA’s administration, which subsequently presents the candidates to OCA’s board for final approval.
