Acknowledgement of the Sámi people

OCA acknowledges the Sámi as one people, and as the Indigenous people of the Fennoscandian region. On the land of this region, Sápmi, the Sámi people have lived since time immemorial, respectfully harvesting from nature by fishing, farming, hunting and following reindeer, amongst other activities.

Current Residencies

OCA offers the following application based international residencies: an artist residency at WIELS Contemporary Art Centre, Brussels, Belgium; an artist and a curator residency at International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP), New York, USA; and an artist residency at Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin, Germany. Applications are accepted from Norway and Sápmi based artists and curators and international artists and curators residing in Norway. The residency programmes are not available for BA or MA students. Applications are assessed by an International Jury appointed by OCA. All applications must be submitted on www.stikk.no.

A 12-months residency programme for an artist and a 3-months residency programme for a curator at the International Studio and Curatorial Program (ISCP) in New York City. Application deadline 1 October.
