
International Visitor Programme
The Office for Contemporary Art Norway runs an International Visitor Programme to support research in Norway and Sápmi by international curators and cultural figures for their upcoming exhibitions and projects.
OCA acknowledges the Sámi as one people, and as the Indigenous people of the Fennoscandian region. On the land of this region, Sápmi, the Sámi people have lived since time immemorial, respectfully harvesting from nature by fishing, farming, hunting and following reindeer, amongst other activities.

International residents (artists, curators and critics) are invited to OCA’s International Studio Programme (ISP) for a period of up to three months. The length of the stay depends on the respective resident’s schedule needs.
Under the umbrella of the project ‘Thinking at the Edge of the World. Perspectives from the North’ OCA initiates a number of residencies and programmes called the International Studio Programme+ (ISP+) for visiting artists, curators and critics in Northern Norway and Sápmi with the cooperation and support of local institutions.
OCA is a key partner of Artica Svalbard and nominates artists for residencies in Longyearbyen, Svalbard and supports them curatorially.
This programme is connecting artists with art professionals across Europe for professional online discussions and knowledge sharing network building.
