Dag Nordbrenden is an artist working with photography and, more recently, video. His work explores different concepts and genres of photography. He recently published the artist book Rub with Ashes, which is an eclectic collection of singular images of recent years. Nordbrenden is educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo and the University of Derby in the UK. His recent solo exhibitions include Centrum för fotografi, Stockholm, Sweden; Galerie Opdahl, Berlin, Germany; Fotogalleriet, Oslo; and Mori Gallery, Sydney, Australia. Jesper Alvær received his formal training as an artist in Prague, New York and Kitakyushu, Japan. He has for the last decade primarily been working in the Czech Republic and Central Europe. Many of his projects may be characterised as long-term investigations and work takes into account various life worlds and the effects of cultural constructions. His projects often materialise in form of installations, videos or undocumented interpersonal meetings. Recent exhibitions include: 'Sight of Times', CCA, Torun, Poland; 'Representing The Nation', ITCA, NG Prague, the Czech Republic; 'Lights On', Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art, Oslo, Norway; 'World-Ex-Position', Open Space, Vienna, Austria; 'Figure and Ground', Bunkier Sztuki, Krakow, Poland; and 'Transkultura: Akt 1', Atrium, MG, Brno, the Czech Republic.
Jan Freuchen is an artist working with installations, drawings, sculptures and constructions. Freuchen reconsiders human achievements in the light of a non-linear, dynamic theory where natural processes and the feedback loops of contemporary cultural expressions provide the fundaments for his deconstructive artistic practice. He holds a degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bergen, Norway and Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Among Jan Freuchen's recent exhibitions are: Lights On, Astrup Fearnley (2008), and Self Assembly, Erik Steen Gallery (2007) in Oslo, Norway and Destroy Athens, 1st Athens Biennial (2007) in Greece.
Sommer is interested in the rhetoric of representation and narrativity, where different structures create and influence conveyance as well as perception. Several of her works are concerned with representations and perceptions regarding the notion of nature and its interaction with science, politics as well as cultural fields such as media.
Marius Engh is a visual artist working with a variety of media to summarise different stages of his research on history, anthropology, modernism and social semiotics. He has had several gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the Kunsthall Oslo (2011), Fábrica de Talentos, Porto, Portugal (2010), Witte de With Center of Contemporary Art, Amsterdam, The Netherlands (2009) and Bergen Kunsthall (2006). His work is part of several private and public collections.
Marianne Zamecznik is a curator. She studied at the curating program at Konstfack in Stockholm from 2000 to 2002. In 2002 she co-founded Simon Says together with Stina Högkvist, with the aim of realising various art-projects, events, exhibitions and publications. Zamecznik simultaneously held a position as a curator and producer at Filmform, the Swedish video art distribution archive, from 2002 to 2004. Since February 2007, Zamecznik has been the program director of 0047 in Oslo, where she has presented projects and solo exhibitions with, most recently, Hans Thorsen, Marte Johnslien, Saskia Holmkvist and Josefine Lyche. Her curated projects include 'The space between us - Introducing the work of Stanislaw Zamecznik' (0047), 'Vodou' (0047 and Gallery 54, Gothenburg), 'Soft Spot' (0047), 'MUTE' (Bastard, Oslo and Tromsø Kunstforening), 'Untrue Stories' (Media Art Farm CCCD, Tibilisi) and 'Bokaktig' (Fotogalleriet). She has worked as an art critic in Kunstkritikk.no, Konsten.se and Billedkunst, and has been an editor for a number of publications and catalogues.
