Open Call for curators, Mondriaan Fund Orientation Trip to Central America

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for Norwegian and Norway based curators to join two OCA funded places on Mondriaan Fund’s Orientation Trip to Central America in October this year.

If you are a curator with international ambitions, would like more insight into international visual arts or would like to broaden your international network, then Mondriaan Fund’s Orientation Trip is for you!

The aim of the trip is to provide an overview of contemporary visual arts in Central America, introducing participants to influential actors in the arts and initiating possibilities of exchange.

Priority will be given to experienced independent curators.

Send your CV and a maximum 500-word motivational letter to info@oca.no. Motivational letters should express why it is of value for you to participate in the orientation trip. It is important that you indicate in your motivation what you can offer locally in terms of expertise, exchange and cooperation and how you can use your acquired knowledge and network upon your return.

Application deadline: 19. June

Travel dates: 15. – 27. October

The trip in 2023 is from 15. – 27. October with a journey to Central America: Costa Rica (San José), Guatemala (Guatemala City, Antigua, San Pedro La Laguna & Comalapa), El Salvador (San Salvador) and Panama (Panama City). In total, approximately 18 people will take part in the journey.

The program consists of visits to museums, art institutions, galleries, artist-in-residence places and meetings with artists, collectors and key figures in the various cities.

The trip is arranged by Mondrian Fund in collaboration with the Danish Arts Agency (Denmark), Pro Helvetia (Switzerland) and Office for Contemporary Art (Norway).
