Now Hiring – Head of Programme

Office for Contemporary Art Norway (OCA) is seeking an experienced candidate for the position Head of Programme. This is a new position within the organisation and the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading OCA’s public programme, maintaining the organisation’s position as a prominent contemporary arts institution and identifying new opportunities for development. The successful candidate will contribute to evolving OCA’s programme with a strong interest in creating new platforms, models, and ways to engage with audiences.

As the Head of Programme, you will be responsible for OCA’s public programme, publications, and events, while actively strengthening collaborations with new and established network of artist and curators.

You will work to promote and stimulate idea-exchanging and contribute to the development of knowledge and practices within contemporary art. You will also work closely with external institutions, organisations, curators, and other art professionals, maintain strong collaborations and partnerships with various stakeholders who contribute to the development of OCA’s position and international network. For OCA’s participation at the Venice Biennale, you will work closely with the selected curators and artists, taking on overall responsibility for the smooth implementation of the project that is commissioned.

OCA is looking for a candidate with relevant education and extensive experience in art and culture. A strong candidate can demonstrate a proven competence and track record of building strong international networks and establishing collaborations with artists and curators. Experience in curating and interest in new technology, digital platforms and a curiosity about speculative futures is advantageous. The candidate should also have an interest in fostering networks and community building.

Head of Programme reports to OCA’s Director and works together with the OCA team to realize various activities.

OCA has been responsible for Norway’s contribution to the visual arts section of La Biennale di Venezia since 2001.
