International Support for Galleries and Independent Exhibition Spaces (ISGIES)

The International Support for Galleries and Independent Exhibition Spaces (ISGIES) was made available for applications for the first time in 2015. The budget for this support in 2015 was NOK 3.000.000.

OCA received 39 applications that met with the criteria set by the Norwegian Ministry of Culture. The total amount applied for was NOK 3.391.707. The applicants were 9 commercial galleries and 30 independent agents whereas 25 applied for promotion of visual art, 12 for art books and journals and 2 for arts & crafts. Of the 39 applicants 27 were located in Oslo, 9 in Bergen and 3 in other parts of Norway.

The 39 applicants were granted NOK 3.000.000 in total and this support includes a promotion of 109 Norwegian artists and their art production abroad.

NOK 2.262.053 was granted for presentation of visual art, NOK 506.176 for presentation of arts & crafts and NOK 231.771 for presentation of art books and journals. Of the total budget NOK 1.728.463 was allocated to support of fair or booth fee, NOK 801.001 for transportation of art, NOK 379.216 for material related to the presentation and NOK 91.320 for insurance of artworks.

The supported presentations are: 19 in the United States, 4 in the United Kingdom, 2 in Spain and 1 in each of 14 other different countries.
